THE Young Warriors will be hoping for a clean sheet when they meet Namibia in their last Mopani Copper Mines Cosafa Under-20 Championship Group C encounter in Zambia this afternoon.

After a goalless draw in their opening encounter against Lesotho, coach Bekithemba Ndlovu’s youngsters needed a late King Nasama goal to beat Angola 1-0 on Sunday and take their points tally to four, the same as Lesotho, who emerged 2-1 winners over Namibia on the same day.

The win put Zimbabwe back on course for a semi-final berth and Ndlovu said they are treating today’s encounter as a final before the final.

He said morale is high in camp, especially after the win over Angola, and focus was now on progressing to the next stage of the championship.

“Morale is high, everyone is looking forward to our next game and in order to progress, we need an outright win. The plan is to keep a clean sheet while we convert our chances that come our way. So it’s a final before the final really,” said Ndlovu.

Only the top teams in each of the three pools will advance to the semi-finals alongside the best placed runners-up.

Hosts, Zambia are already out of the semi-final contention that will be played at Nkana on Thursday afternoon.
