Zim duo in FIBA youth camp 2022 Tonderai Shasha and Tatenda Zwizwai

THE Zimbabwean duo of basketball coach Tonderai Shasha as well as player Tatenda Zwizwai is part of the FIBA Africa Regional Youth Camp 2022 that got underway in Antananarivo, Madagascar yesterday.

The skills development camp brings together the best talent from around Africa to train under the guidance of the continent’s best coaches.

As part of its development programmes, FIBA Africa is having the basketball elite camp in order to improve the global level of African basketball.

The FIBA Africa Regional Youth Camp is an elite basketball skills camp for top young players across all regions of the continent.

The camp will be a unique opportunity for each player to improve their basketball talents, be coached by FIBA and NBA Coaches, and get to know other basketball players from the continent.

In all, 45 players and 15 coaches will benefit from the experience and training provided by four technicians from FIBA and the NBA.

These will include Senegalese Cheick Sarr, FIBA instructor and head coach of the Rwanda national team, Moroccan Naoufal Uariachi who is also FIBA instructor and former head coach of the Morocco national team.

Two NBA experts, the technical director of NBA Academy, Joe Touomou, and the main trainer of Zamalek, coach at NBA Academy Will Voigt are also expected for the internship. — Follow on Twitter @innocentskizoe
