HOSTS Zimbabwe put up a decent third round show in which they scored the day’s second best score that resulted in them dislodging Egypt from second position heading into today’s final day of the 2017 FBC All-Africa Golf Championship at the Elephant Hills Golf Course.

Having started the day on third with 440 points, the David Amm captained hosts put up a strong fight yesterday with Amm carding 70 for a two under-par finish while compatriots stormed into the individual Top 10 with a score of par 72. Tatenda Makunde and Rasheed Mohameed carded 76 and 75 respectively to see Zimbabwe end Day Three on 658 points, 22 off tournament favourites South Africa who had Malcom Mitchell and Matt Saulez carding 73 and 76 respectively. It was however not a good day on the course for the South Africans whose day’s score was 216, down from Day Two’s 209.

It looks promising for Team Zimbabwe heading into today’s final round but they must be worried about Reunion who are 14 points behind.

On the individual score sheets, South Africa’s Mitchell maintained a decent lead over Egypt’s Issa Abu El Ela and Zimbabwe’s Amm who are tied on three under while the South African is a distant eight under upfront.
