PREPARATIONS for the Zimpraise International Gospel and Summer music festival taking place in Harare early next month to celebrate the interdenominational group’s 10-year-anniversary are going on well with the group unveiling its programme of events.

It will be four days of praise and worship from September 5 with a host of local and international gospel artistes and bishops set to grace the festival.

Performers will include Nqubeko Mbatha and Ntokozo Mbambo from South Africa, Michael Mahendere, Takesure Zamar Ncube, Mathius Mhere, Bishop TD Jakes, Bishop John Francis, Bishop Tudor Bismarck and Dr A Madziyire among many others.

The event’s spokesperson, Vickie Mlilo, said they were happy everything was going according to plan.

“Preparations for the festival are at an advanced stage with Bishop TD Jakes’ delegation already in the country as they want to have an appreciation of the event and how it’s being organised. Everything is on course and we’re now looking forward to September,” Mlilo said.

The gospel festival will kick off with “Praise and Worship” workshops with popular gospel artistes Maranda Curtis Willis and Ntokozo Nqubeko Mbatha set to perform at the HICC on September 5.

Youth Explosion nights will be on at the same venue from 10AM to 2PM and 6PM until 9PM respectively led by Apostle B Java and Dr Hosiah Tagara.

On the morning of September 8, Bishop TD Jakes will lead a Zimbabwe Business leadership seminar at HICC starting from 9AM. To participate, people will be expected to part with $100 and $200 for VIP access.

On the same day, a wave of revivals starting from 4PM and running under the theme: “The Legacy of the greatest Commission – From Generation to Generation”, will also be graced by Bishop TD Jakes, Bishop John Francis, Bishop Tudor Bismarck and Dr A Madziyire.

To hype up people for the main event – Zimpraise’s 10-year anniversary celebrations – a family fun day will be held at the National Sports Stadium with music being provided by diverse gospel groups as well as Zimpraise Kids and various choirs.

The gospel festival will shutdown proceedings on September 9 with a Zimpraise Season 10 live DVD recording starting from 4PM at the National Sports Stadium. TD Jakes and Bishop John Francis as well as a host of surprise guests will be at the recording.
