EXHIBITORS at the 2021 Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) were yesterday honoured for displaying outstanding products and services at the country’s premier multi-sectoral trade showcase.

Guest of honour and ZITF patron, President Mnangagwa, presented trophies and shields to winners at the close of his official opening remarks. The competition had 21 categories.

In the energy category, the Ministry of Energy and Power Development was named the winner.

Glytime Foods, which is a healthy foods start-up, was named the winner in the first-time exhibitor category.

In the tourism category, the National Railways of Zimbabwe scooped the first prize.

The Association of Healthcare Funders of Zimbabwe was named the winner in the medical and health-related category.

In the Information Communication Technology (ICT) category, TelOne emerged the winner.

The first prize in the civic participation category went to Gweru City Council while in the education and training category, the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology was the winner.

The revolutionary party, Zanu-PF was named the winner in the Small to Medium Enterprises category.

A Non-Governmental Organisation which focuses in sustainable food and security, Welthungerhilfe, received the first prize in the agricultural and/or irrigation equipment category.

Treger Products, a subsidiary of Treger Group was named the winner in the construction, building and hardware category.

In the furniture, home improvement and interior category, Treger Products again scooped the first prize.

A scientific and research company, Lec Biotech scooped the first prize in the chemicals, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics and toiletries category.

In the food category, Delta Corporation Limited, which produces beverages and soft drinks was crowned the winner.

Fire engineering company, ABC Firetech was crowned the winner in the mining and engineering category.

In the packaging, plastics, stationery/ publishing and printing sector category the Ministry of Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development scooped the first prize as well as in the clothing footwear, textile and accessories category.

In the motor trade category, the winner was the Central Mechanical Equipment Department.

The Public Service Commission scooped the top prize in the business support and regulatory authorities while in the non-industrial/non-commercial display category, the winner was the Ministry of Defence and War Veterans Affairs.

The first prize for the supreme Zimbabwean exhibit at ZITF 2021 went to the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology.

This year’s ZITF attracted 10 nations whose exhibitors also competed among themselves for the best foreign display, which went to Mureza Auto South Africa.

Players in the Bulawayo Agricultural Show also had a competition for the exhibitor scoring the most points in the maize classes, where Mrs Pauline Nyoni emerged the winner.

The prize for the Best Agricultural Stand at the show went to the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water, and Rural Resettlement. — @okazunga
