Highlanders FC coach Bongani Mafu, has expressed satisfaction with his team’s preparations ahead of the upcoming 2015 Castle Lager Premier League season.

Mafu said they have been working very well as the technical team to gear the boys for the forthcoming season.

“We’re getting along quite well with the team and am very happy with the way we are in sync as the technical team,” he said.

Mafu said he was satisfied with most of the team players that have joined the club and he was positive that they would combine well with the older players who were with the club last season.

“We have a number of players that have joined the first team and I think that they will fit quite well into our game plan,” said Mafu.

He said he is working with talented players who needed just to be coached in the right direction to produce the expected results.

“The players that we’re working with are good and can be turned into a very good team, they’re dedicated team players and I think that they will make a great team that can achieve the expected results as long as they follow our game plan,” he said.

He said he was planning to utilise the transfer window to build a strong team that was good and was disciplined.

“The plan is to use the transfer window period to get disciplined talented young players who will blend into the team and win games at the same time,” he said.

With the team’s top goal scorer Charles Sibanda, leaving the club for Zambian side Power Dynamos, Mafu said he was hunting for scorers.
Sibanda scored 13 goals in the Premiership last season.

“So far we’ve got good midfielders and defenders but we seem to be having a problem when it comes to the strikeforce, but we have a few that we have lined up and if we can get two of those I’m sure we will have a strong team that will produce results,” he said.
