THE Zifa Central Soccer League (CSL), which had a false start at the beginning of the month, will finally kick off this weekend with seven fixtures lined up across the region. However, uncertainty still surrounds the participation of Zvishavane Stars who will make the 15th team in the league if  admitted after they were left out of the final fixture.

Stars had not yet settled their affiliation fees in full when the final fixtures were drawn up.

CSL board member administration, Stanley Chapeta, confirmed that the Zvishavane side had been omitted from the final fixture and a position on their future in the league would be determined by the region’s board.

“The league will resume this weekend with 14 to 15 teams as the board will have to make a decision on Zvishavane Stars who made their payment on Wednesday and had not been included in the initial fixture.

“I have since circulated their proof of payment to the board members who will make a determination on whether they are part of the league or not,” he said.

The pick of the league fixtures will pit Varsity Sharks (MSU) against correctional services side Whawha at the MSU  Grounds.
MSU coach, Godfrey Chuchu said he would be looking forward to a positive start to get their championship campaign right on track.

The university outfit has retained the same side which finished sixth last season but have added a few players including former Motor Action and Chapungu forward, Simbarashe Zimora.

Interestingly, Zimora will be facing his former paymasters after turning out for Whawha following his move from Motor Action.
Whawha’s new gaffer Luke Jukulile-Petros, who is also seeking promotion into the top-flight league, is equally upbeat of getting off to a flying start.

The correctional services side have in their ranks the likes of former Tripple B player Emmanuel Machikisa, Sylvester Nhamo who was poached from Chrome Stars and Lesley Makusha from Town United.
