OVERSEAS clubs are scrambling for red-hot Zimbabwe international midfielder Khama Billiat’s signature. The Mamelodi Sundowns golden boy who bagged more than three top awards in the 2015-2016 ABSA Premiership season is having the game of his life in the Caf Champions League where he has proven to be the match winner for the Brazilians.

His form has charmed top clubs from Asia and Europe who are now chasing after the former Aces Youth Academy and Caps United man.

A source told our Harare Bureau that more than three clubs from France and about four in Belgium are keen to take Billiat aboard.

“There is a scramble for Khama Billiat’s signature from overseas clubs.

“Three French top-flight clubs are chasing for the Warriors talisman. About four in Belgium are making inquiries for the same man.

“Interest in Khama has really multiplied as even clubs from China and North Africa are all after him,” said the source.

French Ligue 1 giants AS Monaco are understood to be planning an audacious bid for Khama with their agents expected in South Africa before this weekend.

The agents are expected to meet with Sundowns over the weekend to discuss on the possible transfer of the Warriors man to one of the most competitive leagues in the world.

AS Monaco’s top-flight rivals, Lille OSC are also understood to be interested in Billiat’s services with the Ligue 1 team said to be lining up a lucrative offer for the player who turns 26 next month.

Unnamed Belgian teams have also apparently put Khama on the radar with an intention to swoop on the Warriors attacking midfielder ahead of the 2016/17 season which kicks off in August.

Yet, Khama could choose money over ‘football development’ as a super-rich Chinese club is reported to be ready to break the bank to secure Khama’s signature.

China is one of the countries with sound football sponsorship which has enabled some of its teams to lure big names in the shape of the likes of ex-Chelsea creative midfield hub Ramires.

Billiat has had just the best season since he moved to the Super Disk and with age not on his side, a move to better leagues should come now or never.
