DYNAMOS goalkeepers’ coach Gift Muzadzi says the Glamour Boys aim to be more aggressive when they face Chapungu in the Chibuku Super Cup semi-final at Mandava tomorrow. Muzadzi said DeMbare were not looking at anything less than winning the Cup. “We have been progressing well from the first game up to now though we have faced some challenges along the way. I believe this will be a tough game and we need to be ruthless,” said Muzadzi.

He added that they are prepared for the game and is confident they will defeat Chapungu as the game means a lot to their supporters. Dynamos are the only team which has not conceded a goal during open play in this tournament. Chapungu coach John Nyikadzino is happy with his side assuming the underdog tag.

Nyikadzino said he is aware of the reputation and achievements of their opponents but will give the game their best shot. “Last year we were knocked out in the first round but this time, we want to go all the way to the final,” said Nyikadzino. Chapungu will miss the services of their skipper Collin Kwaramba who is serving suspension after he was expelled for a second bookable offence in the first round against Flame Lily.

Nyikadzino’s options have been reduced with the unavailability of midfielder Marvelous Dikinya who is out for the season after picking an ankle injury that will sideline him for four months.

The airmen, however, have been enjoying good form and are unbeaten in their last four league matches. Chapungu are hoping that their strikeforce which comprise of four former DeMbare men, Tinei Chitora, Allan Tavarwisa, Patrick Khumbula and veteran Phillip Marufu will continue with their good form.

Meanwhile, ZPC Kariba skipper Tendai Hove says morale is high in the team ahead of the Chibuku Super Cup semi-final match against Harare City this afternoon at Mandava. The goalkeeper believes the gloomy days, when they went for seven matches without a victory, are now over.

The keeper, who has been with the club since it was a promoted a year ago, said their coach Sunday Chidzambwa has helped calm their nerves ahead of the crucial tie. Last year’s finalists Harare City also believe that this might be their year following an agonising defeat to FC Platinum in the final at Mandava last year.

City’s goalkeeper Maxwell Nyamupangedengu said going back to Mandava brings back the sad memories but they will not be discouraged.
