HARARE strippers LA Dolce Exotic Dancers failed to pitch up for their show at Metropolis Bar in Bulawayo on Saturday after one of their members lost a child on the eve of the show. The group member, Samantha Zhuwawo lost her three year old daughter who was not feeling well. Leader of the group, Brenda “Coco” Chitsiga said they received the news of the death of the child when they were preparing to travel to Bulawayo.

“We couldn’t come because Samantha lost her child. We received the news on Friday that she had died. So we’re gathered at her house to support her in this time of distress,” said Coco.

She said Samantha’s child would be buried today.

Coco said the group wanted to come without Samantha but the organisers of the show told them not to.

“We were ready to come there but organisers said its either we come the four of us or we postpone. We tried to negotiate with them and at the end of the day we were told that they would postpone the show to a later date,” said Coco.

In another twist on the same night, the bar was ordered to close its doors at 11.30PM by police as per regulations of their liquor licence.

Normally strip shows start at midnight meaning that even if the ladies had shown up, the show was not going to be held.

The manager of the bar, Robbie Moyo said they were still frantically trying to get an extension of their licence to cater for shows in the future.

“We were told to close shop by the police and we complied. We applied for a licence but it hasn’t been granted,” said Moyo.

He said they would hold a striptease show this week as a makeup show for their patrons.
