Highlanders scores a first with Kingdom bank

This is a first on the local football scene although Kingdom Bank is in a similar arrangement with schools and churches as the financial institution spreads its wings.

Making his presentation during the club’s annual general meeting on Sunday, Kingdom Bank marketing manager Tich Gandanamwe said Highlanders Football Club would get between 15-20 percent from every transaction charged.

One hundred and ninety five cards were availed to members at the meeting and all of them were subscribed soon after the meeting ended.

“This is one of the most affordable banking products that we are offering. We are proud to be associated with Highlanders who are a community team just like we are a community bank.

“The Highlanders/Kingdom Cell Card is meant to benefit both the club and members or supporters. Members or supporters will be adding into the club’s coffers each time they make a transaction.  Every month each account holder will be contributing US$0.20 deducted from the monthly charge (besides the numerous transactions that an account holder would make per each given time),” said Gandanamwe.

The bank is charging US$5 to open the account whose monthly charge is US$1,83. The new card has both Kingdom and Highlanders logos on it and bears the member’s club number.

Gandanamwe said the Highlanders/Kingdom Cell Card was available to everyone. The Cell Card holders will among other things enjoy services such as shopping at supermarkets through the point of sale, sending money to other subscribed members through cellphone banking and paying bills among other things.-Chronicle
