A TOP of the table clash is in the offing when second placed Ivan Hoe welcome prisons and correctional services outfit, Whawha in a Zifa Central Soccer League fixture at Amaveni Stadium in Kwekwe this afternoon.

Ivan Hoe are leading the table with 31 points until Shurugwi based Nichrut hammered Silo United 4-0 to claim pole position.

Nichrut who have a relatively easy assignment against log anchors Gwanda United are a point clear of the standings with 32 points.

Ivan Hoe and Chekera Pasi come into today’s encounter on the back of impressive runs with both sides having not tasted defeat in a number of games.

Ivan Hoe coach Julius Chakupewa who saw his side’s six match winning streak being halted by Vumbachikwe last week in a 0 – 0 draw said today’s clash will be tough.

“It is going to be a difficult game considering that Whawha have been playing well and are among the favourites to land the CSL title. We are however, prepared for the game and we will fight in order for us to come out with a positive result,” he said.

His Whawha counterpart Luke Petros-Jukulile was cautious.

“We take each game as it comes and this is one game that is tough for us considering that Ivan Hoe are playing at home and have not lost there. We are going there to pick a positive result which is the only way we can achieve our objective of being promoted in the topflight league,” said the former Warriors striker.

Whawha are on 28 points but have a game in hand after their game against Chrome Stars was abandoned with the jailers leading 2 – 0 with two minutes to go.

They will be hoping to carry on from where they left from.
