ROBERT Moyo and his partner Mqa Dube carded a total of 43 points to win the Liquid Golf Tournament held at Bulawayo Golf Club on Friday. More than 40 amateur golfers took part in the tournament used by the telecommunications company to officially launch their broadband product. On second place was Mufaro Chivonivoni and his partner, a Mpofu while Taurai Paguwa and Rodnah Mutasa settled for third place with 42 points. Todd Van Breda and Magura Mhaka carded 41 points to finish fouth.

Mutasa was to win a single prize with her longest drive swing on hole nine while veteran Moses Mlalazi took the prize in the men’s category.

The playing format was a four ball better ball.

The two players on the team each play their own golf ball throughout the round. On each hole, the two team members compare scores, and the lower of their two scores (the better ball) counts as the team’s score

“We’re happy with the turnout of golfers and as we set base here in Bulawayo, we want to contribute to the city’s growth. It’s a fact that a lot of businesses are run from home hence our decision to bring communication to the home.

“We’re still addressing enterprises by direct connections of fibre but what we’re now launching here today is fibre to the home,” said Wellington Makamure, Liquid managing director.

He said the product had a huge impact on economic growth.
