Mushekwi ready for Santos

The Brazilians go into this game re-invigorated, thanks to a 2-0 win over Moroka Swallows on Wednesday night.
People’s Team skipper Wayne Arendse says his team-mates are determined not to let the memories of Wednesday night linger, when Santos squandered a 3-0 half-time lead to draw 3-3 with Free Stars.

Goals from Erwin Isaacs, Jurie Basie and a stunning strike from Vuyisile Wana, were cancelled out as Ea Lla Koto struck three times in the second half.
Wana continues to shine in his short spell in the PSL and could be a big threat to Luvhengo Mungomeni, Matthew Booth, Wayne Sandilands and co.

The Cape side’s defence will also have their hands full, dealing with Mushekwi, who is in red-hot form of late, helping to ease the void created by Katlego Mphela, who is in dispute with the club.
Santos defender Arendse says his side are determined to make amends following their mid-week mishap.
“We were very disappointed and spent a long time on the field after the game was finished discussing what went wrong.

“We lost concentration, the players thought at half-time we had won it.
“You can’t afford to make these mistakes at the top level, and we are determined to go top Pretoria and rectify matters by getting three points.
“It will be tough against Sundowns, of course, but we arte strong mentally — we are not despondent after the Stars game, rather determined to get back on track,” he said.

Santos will have Tony Tsabebedze back from suspension, but Salmaan King remains doubtful.
Sundowns skipper Esrom Nyandoro is hopeful better form is ahead for the Brazilians after a disappointing start to 2011.
“January was a bad month, but that is behind us — the win over Swallows saw us put in a good show and provides a confidence boost going forward. We want to continue where we left off against Santos, but we know they are always a tough side to play against.
“We have to be careful on the counter, that’s where they are most dangerous,” said the Zimbabwean. — Sports Reporter/Supersport.
