RELEGATION threatened Chiredzi FC face a mammoth task when they host unbeaten side ZPC Kariba at Chishamiso Stadium tomorrow.
Chiredzi who are now under the mentorship of outspoken gaffer Gishon Ntini were beaten 2-1 in their last fixture against Harare City.Ntini who was hired after the controversial sacking of Moses Chunga by the Chiredzi executive was tasked with saving the financially crippled side from relegation from the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League.

ZPC who by Sunday were already in the Lowveld and witnessed Triangle’s 3-2 win over Bantu Rovers are yet to lose a match in 17 starts and are a point behind disappointing Highlanders with 30.

ZPC have drawn 10 matches.

Kariba are 20 points ahead of Chiredzi who have managed to collect a paltry 10 points from two wins and four draws.

With the Chiredzi community however still divided over the Chunga saga a significant crowd is expected to watch the match.

Ntini, the Chiredzi FC head coach says he has prepared for the ZPC Kariba game just like he has done for other assignments.

He said he is eager to become the first coach to break Saul Chaminuka’s unbeaten run.

“We are preparing for the match just like any other match. We don’t have tactics designed for specific teams but we prepare to win,” he said.

“It’s everyone’s wish to break records just like we did last weekend when we recorded the team’s first home win. This was appreciated by our supporters and nothing will stop us from fighting for victory when we play a team which is yet to lose. What I can safely say is we need points and the only way to collect them is to win,” said Ntini.

Chaminuka and his troops have been acclimatising to lowveld typically high temperatures.
