BULAWAYO Amateur Football Association (Bafa) league champions Rebels will be facing Chuck XI in the quarter-final of the Townshend and Butcher tournament at Greenspan football field on Sunday.
Rebels are the defending champions of the tournament but are faced with a tough encounter which might see them knocked out by Chucky XI who have been in top form thrashing Securico 4-1 in the first round of the tournament.

Chris Mtungwazi  the chairman of Rebels United said the players have been training very hard, morale in their team is high and will be ready for the  Sunday match.

“Our players have been training very hard, I can assure you that come match day we will be ready for them,” said Mtungwazi.

Bafa vice chairman Charles Chunda praised teams who progressed to the quarter-finals of the tournament and said he is happy with the discipline that has been shown by the teams.

“All the teams who made it to the quarter-final deserve to be there and I am impressed with the level of discipline they showed in the first round of the tournament,” said Chunda.

He said that the level of competition in this year’s edition of the tournament has improved.

All the Bafa league games will be at pause to accommodate the Townshend and Butcher quarter-finals.

In other quarter-final matches Bayi-Bayi will square off against Safe Guard with United FC locking horns with an unpredictable Golden Hotspurs while BCC West Park play Madamara.
