MATABELELAND Tuskers Cricket Franchise needs a single victory from their remaining two games against Manicaland Mountaineers and Mashonaland Eagles to reclaim the Logan Cup.

They will be home at Bulawayo’s ceremonial home of cricket, Queens sports Club for their last fixtures.

Matabeleland Tuskers who top the Logan Cup table with 31 points from seven outings, eight points ahead of second placed Mashonaland Eagles who play host to MidWest Rhinos at the Harare Sports Club today, are at home to Manicaland Mountaineers.

In the event they get maximum points at the end of the four-dayer, Matabeleland Tuskers will be crowned champions with an unassailable 38 points.

Matabeleland Tuskers won the Logan Cup three times in a row between 2010 and 2013, losing the title to Manicaland Mountaineers last season.

Wayne James, the Matabeleland Tuskers coach said his charges are fired up for the game against Manicaland Mountaineers.

“The fact that we’ve an opportunity to reclaim the title while we’re left with two games is motivation enough for our boys. Now the title is ours to lose and the boys know that. However, we still have to do all the basics right so that we get the points we need,” said James.

They will be hoping that seamer Brian Vitori and wicketkeeper Richmund Mutumbami pass late fitness tests this morning.

Vitori is nursing an ankle injury while Mutumbami has a back problem.

Matabeleland Tuskers bowling attack of Vitori, Christopher Mpofu, Luke Jongwe and John Nyumbu has done well in the absence of national team players Tawanda Mupariwa and Sean Williams who are attending the ICC World Cup.
