The United States Embassy says it will showcase its partnership with Zimbabwe in health and education at the ongoing Zimbabwe International Trade Fair.US embassy spokesperson Karen Kelly said the partnership between the two countries promotes Zimbabwe’s economic recovery and highlights opportunities for trade between the countries.

“Through the ongoing programming and partnerships in Zimbabwe, the United States continues to promote Zimbabwe’s economic recovery and highlight opportunities for trade and investment that will benefit American and Zimbabwean businesses alike,” said Kelly.

She also said the ZITF will offer information about innovative health partnerships and service delivery.

“In line with ZITF theme ‘new ideas to new heights’ the US participation through a booth at ZITF will offer information about innovative health partnerships and service delivery as well as education opportunities in the US that serve to encourage new ideas and joint achievements between the two countries,” said Kelly.

The US embassy said it was the leading provider of bilateral HIV/Aids assistance and will showcase  health programmes being implemented in the country.

A total of $95 million has been allocated for the programmes for 2013 and 2014.

Kelly said through a strong partnership with the Ministry of Health and Child Care, the US has been able to provide essential technical support as well as build human resource capacity.

Meanwhile, the US ambassador to Zimbabwe Bruce Wharton is among speakers expected to address the Zimbabwe International Business Conference today.

The theme of the conference is “Technology and Innovation: A key pillar for Zim-Asset implementation.”
