It is not a secret that leaders from the West are still carrying a colonial grudge especially against progressive and Pan Africanist leaders such as President Mugabe.

In their evil intentions, they have tried by all means to discredit President Mugabe’s credibility, impressive and well documented record of standing up for the African people and its continent.
President Mugabe has shown other leaders in the world what being a leader is by taking issues that affect his people to his heart.

Today Zimbabwe stands out as a country that has done the unthinkable by giving its people the most important resource, the land, and is now on the verge of achieving another milestone by further empowering her sons and daughters through the indigenous and economic empowerment programme.

Already communities have started benefiting through the Community Share Ownership Trust.
However, the Western leaders would not give up in disturbing such programmes and they always find ways of doing so.

The latest tool to divide Zimbabweans this time around it seems is to praise some politicians and denigrate others.

In our yesterday’s edition, President Mugabe warned Zimbabweans to be cautious of Western leaders who praise them as good leaders while aiming to work against the people.
He said Western leaders could use Zimbabweans to fight against each other so that they exploit the resources.

President Mugabe, who is the Head of State and Government and Commander-in-Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces was speaking at Gomorefu High School while officially launching the Marange-Zimunya Community Share Ownership Trust that received $50 million from five companies mining diamonds in the area.

President Mugabe expressed his shock and disappointment that some political leaders in the country were being equated to Mandela.
President Mugabe’s remarks came after Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard early this week equated Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai to former South African President Nelson Mandela.

We are puzzled as well how Mr Tsvangirai can be equated to the iconic freedom fighter, Mandela.

Mandela, popularly known as Madiba or uTata by the South Africans and other people the world over, is by no means a match for Mr Tsvangirai. If fact we find it as an insult that a revolutionary and freedom fighter of Madiba’s credentials can be put on the same footing with Mr Tsvangirai.

For the record, Mandela spent 27 years at Robben Island because of his militant and revolutionary spirit in the fight against the evils of apartheid.

He was released on 11 February 1990 to lead his party, the ANC in negotiations that led to the establishment of democracy in 1994.
So where does Mr Tsvangirai come in? All what we know about him is that Mr Tsvangirai is pushing the imperialist agenda. That is why he invited sanctions on his people; got funding from white commercial farmers, remember the CNN report that captured him receiving money from  white farmers in 2000. He is anti-everything that Zimbabweans stand for.

We seek to advise Mr Tsvangirai that he does not deserve to be equated to someone of Mandela’s stature.

We believe Julia Gillard’s statement was just meant to spite progressive forces in our beloved country. However, we seek to advise her that the people of Zimbabwe do not need her praises at all.

It also leaves us wondering whether Julia Gillard really knows who Mandela is.
