BARBOURFIELDS Stadium looks set to host to the ZNA Commander’s Charity Shield final on a date to be announced.

The final will feature Bulawayo giants, Highlanders, and the winners of this weekend’s semi-final clash between ZPC Kariba and Harare City at Nyamhunga Stadium.

Speaking after the semi-final encounter which Bosso won on penalties following a 1-1 stalemate in regulation time, Major General Trust Mugoba all but confirmed that the final would be at Barbourfields.

“It will be wise for us to bring the final to Bulawayo, so yes, the final will be here in Bulawayo,” said Mugoba.

He also revealed that all 16 Premier Soccer League teams will take part in next year’s tournament.

“We have received complaints from other clubs on why we do not include them and are now liaising with the PSL leadership to find space in their calendar next year. We are certainly going to bring all the teams (on board),” said Mugoba.

Meanwhile, Highlanders coach Erol Akbay said he was satisfied with the penalty shootout win against FC Platinum.

“I’m always happy with a win; it doesn’t matter how we get it, a win is a win. All we want is to grind a positive result so as to make our supporters happy,” said Akbay.

The semi-final win was also witnessed by the Minister of Sport and Recreation Makhosini Hlongwane, Zifa vice-president Omega Sibanda, War Veterans’ Minister Tshinga Dube and senior army commanders.

Highlanders have won all four matches they have played this year, with three of the victories coming via spot kicks.

Bosso kick-off their 2016 Castle Lager PSL campaign away to Hwange on April 2.
