FIFTEEN coaches are attending a five-day netball intermediate course that started on Monday and is aimed at upgrading their application and interpretation of the game’s latest rules.

The course is at Sobukhazi High School in Mzilikazi and is being conducted by provincial technical director and veteran netball administrator Nozipho Mpofu.

“This course is basically for those with an elementary netball certificate. We aim to upgrade as well as equip them with the latest trends in the game of netball,” she said.

Mpofu said a coach had to practise for at least a year before being recommended to enrol for the intermediate course.

“Our participants will be taken through both the theory and practicals of the course hence the low number of attendants,” she said.

Meanwhile, Bulawayo Jumbos won the Bulawayo Province Open Season tournament that was held at Sobukhazi High School at the weekend. Jumbos beat ZRP Bulawayo 23-13 to claim the top prize.
