Binga Soccer Academy, Madumabisa Kidznet for Kasambabezi Marathon Binga Soccer Academy

A football match pitting Binga Soccer Academy and Madumabisa Kidznet from Hwange has been added to the festivities of the Binga Kasambabezi Marathon set for this Saturday.

Binga Soccer Academy founder Pride Ngwenya said they were using the marathon event as a platform to speak against drug and alcohol abuse amongst the youth.

“On the day of the marathon we will have a march with the kids on the closing up ceremony with the messages on awareness campaigns on drugs abuse and its effects on athletes and the entire community.

“We will grace up the occasion with a soccer match against Madumabisa kidznet from Hwange coached by former Hwange ad national team midfielder Charles Nsomba Chuma,” said Ngwenya.

Registration fees for the 42km marathon are set at US$10, while those interested in participating in the half-marathon will pay US$7. Registration to compete in the 10km race is US$5 and the 5km fun run has been set at US$2.

Already, over 700 people have registered with only 13 of those signing up for the full marathon.

Most of the participants will compete in the half marathon, 10km and 5km ccompetitions.
