BULAWAYO Amateur Boxing Association is holding a boxing tournament tomorrow at Manor Hotel. The bill promises fireworks after a series of successful events that have been held at the venue since the beginning of the year. The tournament has attracted more than 30 bouts featuring pugilists from all the provinces in the country.

Veteran trainer Philip “Striker” Ndlovu said that before the boxing tournament they are going to have a meeting of boxing association representatives from all the provinces discussing the preparations for the upcoming Region Five Under-20 Youth Games in December.
Ndlovu invited boxing fans to come in numbers to support the pugilists.

“All is set for the BABA boxing tournament.  We hope that after hosting successful tournaments before, our fans will continue to show support by coming in numbers,” he said.

Ndlovu said all Bulawayo clubs would be represented while most boxing associations from other provinces have also confirmed participation.
“All Bulawayo clubs will be there as well as pugilists from most of the provinces in the country,” said Ndlovu.

“We’re expecting interesting bouts from the girls category as well. The city has very talented female pugilists, some who did very well in the recent National Youth Games in Masvingo,” said Ndlovu.
