BULAWAYO Central legislator Dorcas Sibanda was one of the ushers at the Walter Magaya led Prophetic Healing and Deliverance (PHD) Ministries all-night prayer held in Harare on Friday.

The all-night prayer, which attracted thousands of people from all walks of life, was also attended by ministers, MPs, chiefs and dignitaries from in and outside the country.

The Minister of Information, Media and Broadcasting Services, Cde Christopher Mushohwe; the Minister of Information Communications Technology, Postal and Courier Services, Supa Mandiwanzira; Mashonaland Central Provincial Affairs Minister Martin Dinha as well as deputy ministers Anastasia Ndlovu, Abigail Damasane and Paul Mavhima, were among those who attended.

Dubbed “Turn Around Four”, the all-night prayer, which is now an annual event in the church’s calendar, drew congregants from as far as Zambia, Tanzania, South Africa, Botswana, Ethiopia, the United Kingdom and Australia among other countries.

Sibanda, who is a new member of PHD ministries, spent the whole night on her feet ushering dignitaries who thronged the church in Waterfalls suburb.

The MP told The Chronicle that she volunteered to be part of the ushering crew because she was proud to be part of PHD Ministries.

“I’m very happy that I’m part of PHD Ministries. I’m proud that I spent the whole night working for God and I will continue doing so. I chose to be there because there’s deliverance, there’s healing and there’s prophecy. I’m proud of Prophet Magaya because he’s a great teacher and I’ve learnt a lot of things from him,” said an elated Sibanda who was on her way from Harare after attending the PHD Sunday service yesterday.

“It’s easy for me to do God’s work because I grew up in a Christian family and I’ve always loved working for God and the people. I really enjoyed looking after our guests and making sure they were comfortable. It makes me feel good and blessed.”

The legislator said she was happy that her colleagues’ and friends believed in the power of Prophet Magaya’s anointing oil.

“Most MPs have been asking for the anointing oil from the anointed Man of God and I know it will heal them and change their lives. I want to encourage them to trust and believe in God regardless of which church they go to. I chose to join PHD but I respect every church. I’ve visited the Roman Catholic, SDA, Harvest House International and other popular churches,” said Sibanda.

The “Turn Around” all-night congregants started flocking to the church on Thursday evening to find strategic positions where they could see the prophet when he arrived.

The charismatic leader arrived at 11PM and the mood and atmosphere completely changed at the venue, with crowds screaming with joy after setting their eyes on him.

Thousands of people fell to the ground, some vomitted while others wailed as Prophet Magaya declared that no one would go back home the same.

Prophet Magaya’s spiritual father, Nigerian prophet TB Joshua, prayed for the country and President Robert Mugabe in a tele-broadcast to worshippers.

The world famous prophet, who commands one of the largest pentecostal churches on the African continent, declared a new dawn for the country, the PHD church and the congregants.

Speaking to journalists during the all-night prayer, Prophet Magaya said while he was preaching, a team of intercessors was also praying for the event in Lagos, Nigeria, at the Synagogue Church of All Nations.

Oliver Mtukudzi, South Africa’s gospel star, Benjamin Dube and the country’s top gospel couple Charles and Olivia Charamba, were some of the musicians that entertained the crowd.

Sungura senior lecturer and now a member of the PHD praise and worship, Nicholas Zacharia and dancehall artiste, Shinsoman, also had their fair share of the stage.
