CHIEF Mvuthu of Monde area in Hwange District who died on Monday night, will be buried at his homestead today. Hwange Chiefs have described the death of Chief Mvuthu, 53, born Nyangayezizwe Mlotshwa, as a great loss to the nation. Chief Nelukoba of Cross Mabale said Chief Mvuthu’s death had left a huge gap that would be difficult to fill.

Chief Nekatambe of Lukosi-Mambanje said Chief Mvuthu was his mentor.

Hwange District Administrator Tapera Mugoriya said the government was assisting with resources as well as co-ordinating the burial arrangments.
He said the late Chief would be buried at his homestead in Jambezi today.

Chief Mvuthu was born on October 10, 1961 and worked at the Hwange Colliery Company until he  was appointed chief on June 7, 2008, taking over from his late father, Abednico Mlotshwa.

He was installed on September 27, the same year.
At the time of his death, he was the chairperson of the Hwange Community Share Ownership Trust.

Chief Mvuthu is survived by wife Epiphaniah and three children.
