A CHITUNGWIZA family rue the decision they made to accept a lucrative tender of printing campaign material for the Citizens Coalition for Change.

The tender was going to see the family run business printing 75 000 t-shirts for distribution in Marondera and Harare.

However, according to Tricia Nenzou her husband, Alexio Kapfudza had since gone into hiding while they were also subject to a number of attacks from members of the ruling Zanu-PF.

She revealed that their seven-year-old son- Ashton Kapfudza- had also been abducted by unknown assailants who were demanding the whereabouts of Alexio in exchange for the release of the child.

“We got this tender through Marondera Central MP, Caston Matewu and it was for the prining and distribution of 75 000 t-shirts in Marondera and Harare. It was a huge boost for our business as we also managed to create employment for the community printing about 1000 t-shirts a day.

“However, little did we realise that this was going to be the start of hell for us as instead of considering us as a business entity we were accused of working for the opposition. As is my husband had to escape as he feared for his life and up to now we do not even know his whereabouts. At the beginning of this month (October) my son disappeared for a couple of days, when he returned he had been badly tortured, these individuals told us we were going to be targeted until we reveal the whereabouts of my husband,” said a distraught Nenzou.

She revealed that she even feared reporting the matter to the police as initially when she had done so the police had stated that they also wanted my husband for questioning.

“I was told that my husband was wanted for questioning pertaining a video clip that was recorded of him and MP Matewu after a rally that was organised by CCC had been disbursed by the police in March.

“We are now living in fear, my son is especially traumatized after the incident and he constantly has nightmares,” said Nenzou.
