HWANGE Football Club’s ceremonial home, Colliery Stadium and Premiership newboys Sheasham FC’s Bata Stadium in Gweru have been given the green light to host topflight games after going through renovations.

Zifa spokesperson Xolisani Gwesela confirmed that a team of grounds experts cleared the Colliery and Bata for premiership games following a re-inspection done last week.

“The Colliery Stadium and Bata Stadium have gone through massive development and have been cleared to host Premier Soccer League matches,” Gwesela said.

Both Hwange and Sheasham will save significant amounts in travelling costs, wihh their home fans set to watch their team at their doorsteps.

Hwange and Sheasham were one of the nine teams alongside ZPC Kariba, Black Rhinos, Cranborne Bullets, Manica Diamonds, Manica Diamonds, Simba Bhora and Greenfuel who had their facilities condemned. They had to find alternative venues for their home games.

Hwange have played their four home matches in Bulawayo at Luveve Stadium and Barbourfields, while Sheasham used  Mandava  Stadium in Zvishavane as they completed  their renovations at Bata  Stadium.

The country’s Caf trained stadium experts are still waiting to be invited for re-inspection of Sakubva Stadium in Mutare, ZPC Kariba’s home ground Nyamhunga, Greenfuel’s Chisumbanje home as well as Simba Bhora’s Shamva which is going through a facelift.

Sakubva is the official home of Manica Diamonds who have been using Gibbo Stadium in Triangle alongside Greenfuel for their home encounters.

Black Rhinos who used to share Vengere Stadium in Rusape with Greenfuel are now using the National Sports Stadium.  ZPC Kariba also use the National Sports Stadium which also services Caps United, Dynamos, Simba Bhora, Yadah and Herentals.
