SOUTH AFRICAN DJ and record producer, DJ Obza (real name Obakeng Kekana) has featured Zimbabwean artiste Roki (Rockford Josphats) on a remix of his Amapiano hit song, Mang’dakiwe.

After a year of its release, DJ Obza has released the remix together with the Screenshot singer.

Since working under Passion Java Records, Roki has found his passion, something that has led to his rebirth in the music scene.

He has come full circle and the latest project is a testament to that.

The song’s video, within days of release, has amassed close to 150 000 views on YouTube. It has been endorsed by many music lovers as well.

It was a dreadlock affair when DJ Obza collaborated with Roki who also sang the song in IsiZulu and ChiShona. Roki doesn’t just sing but also partakes in the choreography.

The video shot in neighbouring South Africa also features Leon Lee who featured in the original song.

Among some of the people who commented on the collaboration was one Norton Foundation who commended Passion Java for the support he has given Roki.

“Java connecting Roki with Africa’s finest is the best thing he has done this year,” commented Norton.

Said Kuda Muchacha: “Leon Lee is very hungry for the game you can feel it & see it! As for our legend from Zimbabwe Roki, it’s painful that it took 20 years of his career to get to this level, but hey, God’s time is the perfect time.”

Lately, Roki has been collaborating with some of the finest artistes Africa has ever produced.

These include Congolese Koffi Olomide and Tanzania’s Rayvanny on Patati Patata. — @eMKlass_49
