ZIMDANCEHALL musician Enzo Ishall who recently announced that he is quitting music has said he chose to record his “last” project in Bulawayo because of the love he has for the people of the City of Kings and Queens.

The musician, who rose to stardom around 2018, gave fans hits such as Kanjiva, Smart Rinotangira Kutsoka, Urikutsvirei, Vanodherera, 50 Magate and Chinese Wake Up. In 2019, he won the National Arts Merit Awards (Nama) Song of the Year award for his Kanjiva track that was a national hit.

But now, the musician, in a shocking twist has decided to call it quits on his career that seemed very promising.

Speaking from Harare, Enzo Ishall said he has quit music for reasons that he is not ready to reveal.

He, however, said he chose to record the video of his “final” song titled Ehee in Bulawayo because of the love that he has for the city.

The track whose visuals were shot at Stanley Square and a local studio by one of the country’s fast-growing videographers Afri Art features the city’s choir One Spirit and dancers.

Listening to the track and watching the visuals, one is touched by the way that people rise from rags to riches as long as they have set dreams and have faith to conquer.

“I’ve decided to quit music to focus on my family and other businesses. For my Ehee track and visuals, I chose Bulawayo because I love the city a lot. Also, most of my fans and friends are there so it was the perfect location.

“This was also my way to say thank you for all the years they have supported me,” said Enzo Ishall.

He said the track’s storyline on the visuals resemble his life.

“The track is a success story that applies to my life story. It’s a track of coming from rags to riches of a boy proposing at a young age to marrying that same woman, a football player from the grassroots to a professional league, a ghetto girl from nothing to acquiring a degree.” — @mthabisi_mthire.
