Fastjet leads in on-time performance

BUDGET airline, Fastjet, has emerged top in terms of on-time running performance ahead of other African regional airlines with 90 percent average ranking.

Fastjet is one of the most consistently punctual airlines in the world and counts among the top airlines when measured against flightstats.com, a website that measures thousands of airlines globally for on-time performance every month.

In July, the low-cost airline launched the Harare-Bulawayo route and is now offering four routes from its hub in Harare, connecting Harare to Victoria Falls, Bulawayo, Johannesburg and Dar es Salaam. The airline carries around 40 000 visitors per month on its Zimbabwean routes.

“Next month Fastjet celebrates its third year of affordable travel in Zimbabwe,” the company’s spokesperson, Mr Hein Kaiser said.

“Movement of people and goods between economic and tourism hubs contributes substantially to growth, opportunity and connecting friends and family.

“We remain committed to be a catalyst to Zimbabwe’s sustained growth today, tomorrow and into the future.”

According to the airline, its customer experience programme has also made positive progress as a recent internal survey showed that most Zimbabweans highly regard Fastjet’s customer service.

“We believe in constant and never-ending improvement, and with the introduction of the first bag and a light snack included on most of our routes, our on-time performance and improved customer experience, Fastjet continues to show our commitment to our Guests,” said Mr Kaiser.

The airline plans to introduce initiatives on a sustained basis to continue improving its service levels.
