Former Zanu-PF Member Caught in House Inheritance Wrangle: Concerns Mount Over Forced Eviction and Intimidation Tactics The Pumula house in contention

Chronicle Reporter

A bitter dispute has erupted in the Pumula suburb of Bulawayo, as former Zanu-PF member, Stanley Mhlanga, finds himself embroiled in a relentless battle over the ownership of a house he inherited from his late father.

The situation has escalated to the point where Mhlanga has been forced out of his own property and gone into hiding, fearing retribution from Zanu-PF officials.

The dispute centers around a modest house located on a quiet street in Pumula. Mhlanga, who recently severed ties with the ruling party, claims that the property was rightfully passed down to him after the demise of his father, Leonard Mfanyana Mhlanga. However, Zanu-PF officials argue that the house was given to Mhlanga’s father as a reward for his loyalty to the party, and now that Mhlanga has left the ranks, he is no longer entitled to possess the property.

The situation has taken a distressing turn, with reports indicating that party officials have forcibly evicted Mhlanga from the house, turning it into a hub for Zanu-PF activities. The once tranquil residence has become a no-go zone for residents, as party business takes precedence within its walls.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, a close relative of Mhlanga expressed deep concern over the situation. “We are extremely worried about Stanley’s safety and the blatant disregard for his rights,” the relative said. “He has been unlawfully ousted from his own home, and now he is living in constant fear for his life.”

The relative went on to reveal that Mhlanga has gone into hiding, fearful of the repercussions should he attempt to reclaim his rightful property. “It is heartbreaking to see Stanley forced into hiding, unable to exercise his basic rights,” they added. “No individual should be subject to such intimidation and coercion, especially when it involves their own family home.”

The relative further revealed that as tensions continued to escalate Stanley’s wife was also attacked after she had voiced her concern over the repossesing of the house.

In response to the mounting tensions, Zanu-PF officials have made public statements, vowing to deal with Mhlanga should he attempt to reclaim the house. Their stance has only deepened concerns among community members who believe that such actions are a violation of personal property rights.

Amidst this ongoing dispute, community leaders and legal experts are calling for a fair and impartial resolution to the matter. They argue that due process should be followed to ensure justice prevails, and the rights of all parties involved are respected.

The situation surrounding Stanley Mhlanga’s inherited house has not only raised significant concern over property rights but also highlights the broader issue of political intimidation and the potential abuse of power. As the dispute unfolds, residents in Pumula remain anxious, hoping for a swift resolution that upholds justice and protects the fundamental rights of individuals.

Attempts to reach Zanu-PF officials for comment on the matter have been unsuccessful at the time of publication.
