POLICE in Bulawayo are seeking information that will lead to the location of a girl (2) who went missing while under the custody of her mentally challenged brother.

Princess Bonginkosi Ncube was last seen on 20 November under unclear circumstances when her mother instructed her mentally unstable brother to take her to her grandmother’s place while she went to fetch water at a nearby borehole.

In a statement, Bulawayo acting police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Nomalanga Msebele described Princess as being approximately 0.85 meters tall, with a slender frame, brown eyes, black hair, and a dark complexion.

“Princess Bonginkosi Ncube was last seen on the 20th of November 2023 by her mother, who left her in the custody of her mentally unstable brother while going to fetch water at a nearby borehole. The brother was instructed to take her to her grandmother’s place as usual.

“When the mother returned, she discovered that her children were neither at home nor at their grandmother’s house. The children were searched for two days through the forest and nearby villages. The elder brother was later found at the edge of some plots near Teakdale. He was interviewed, but he could not tell where he left his sister.

Assistant Inspector Msebele urged members of the public to either contact the police or her mother upon finding her.

“Anyone with information can contact her mother, Glander Sibelo, on 0714 272 264, 0713 144 978, 0777 645 232. The investigating officer can be reached at 0718 013 673,” said Asst Insp Msebele
