GLORIOUS Jet leads a field of horses nominated for the Zimoco Ipi Tombi Stakes listed race to be held at Borrowdale Racecourse this Sunday.

There is $12,000 stakemoney in this main event to be run over 1,600M.

This equine from the stable of Saint John Gray if it goes through will square up against an impressive field decorated by winners in their own right. Glorious Jet is highly rated at (99) for this Zimoco Ipi Tombi race.

One of the winners this runner will trade iron and leather with is Gentle Brooke (84) the daughter of Windrush and Powerful Parrish.

Ever since Gentle Brooke relocated to Zimbabwe from South Africa a few years ago, she has posted impressive records in sprint events.

Gentle Brooke is under the hand of trainer Amy Bronkhorst. Amy has thrown into the ring another classy performer in the form of Equina (93) and Thriller in Manila (80).

Equina scored a notable double when winning the $40,000 OK Grand Challenge at Borrowdale Park on June 7, 2014 following her Castle Tankard win in May last year.

By winning these two races she became the first filly to win a double in the same year in the history of horse racing in Zimbabwe.

Last year in 2014 Equina delivered to her owner Peter Moor, trainer Amy Bronkhorst, jockey Karl Zechner and groomer Lawrence Tsurudzo a total of $66,500 in stakemoney to share in just four races.

This alone speaks volumes about the quality of this filly. Equina also has a sister San latigo who is also doing wonders in South Africa.

Alyson Wright will look up to his best warrior, Captain’s Tiger to bring the award home. This horse is a battle hardened runner of many battles, on a good day it can deliver the results.

However, to expect Captain’s Tiger to win this one will be demanding too much from him. If he makes it to the final field a place finish is within reach.

Another runner that will cause the field problems is Lucky Sam trained by rising Bridget Stidolp.

Lucky Sam is rated (95) for this race.

Lucky Sam was the winner of the Bloodstock South Africa race over 2,000M the second leg of the Triple Crown at Borrowdale in 2012. He was ridden by jockey Gavin Lerena on the day.

For now everyone is waiting for the acceptances to see which one among these runners will make it through to the final. If they all make it through then the fans surely will be in for a treat as any horse among the field can take it away.
