Hockey ladies countdown to junior World Cup Zimbabwe Hockey Team

THE Zimbabwe Under-21 field hockey side held its first training session in South Africa yesterday ahead of the FIH Hockey Women’s Junior World Cup that begins on Friday in Potchefstroom, North West province.

The Women’s Junior World Cup runs from April 1-12 and Zimbabwe is among the 16 countries participating in the competition.

“The Under-21 ladies have had their first practice session on the tournament pitch. It’s the final countdown to the start of the Junior World Cup. Thank you once again to all our sponsors who have made this possible,” Zimbabwe Hockey revealed on Tuesday morning.

Zimbabwe was last in the Women’s Junior World Cup in 2016 in Chile.

The Zimbabwe ladies take on Canada, United States and Netherlands in Pool A.

Pool B is made up of England, Ireland, South Africa and Ukraine.

Argentina, Austria, Korea and Uruguay will battle it out in Pool C, while Pool D consists of Germany, India, Malaysia and Wales.
