A BULAWAYO man recently broke into his neighbour’s house, stripped her naked, stole property worth about $3, 600 and defecated on the doorstep as he left, a court has heard.

Farai Mzila (30) allegedly helped himself to some ciders and yoghurt from the fridge after failing to rape the woman.

He pleaded guilty to unlawful entry and theft before Western commonage magistrate Miss Tancy Dube who remanded him in custody to Friday.

Prosecuting, Ms Magret Takawira said last month Mzila broke into his neighbour’s house in Magwegwe North.

“The accused person armed himself with a knife, grabbed the complainant, stripped her naked, forced her onto the floor and demanded cash.

“He took $593 from a hand bag and two cell phones. The accused person also took a plasma television,” said Ms Takawira.

The woman told the court that Mzila drank a Redds Cider and ate yoghurt from the fridge.

She said before he left he relieved himself on her main entrance doorstep. “He pinned me down and held a knife to my neck threatening to kill me if I screamed. He took off my clothes saying he wanted to rape me.

“In fear of being raped I complied with his instructions,” said the woman.

The court heard how Mzila changed his mind about the rape and ordered the woman to cover herself. “He grabbed a duvet cover and a pillow and told me to wrap myself up. He took my house keys and went out,” said the victim.

The court heard police recovered property worth $3,000 at Mzila’s house.
