LOG leaders Hwange have ruled out complacency in their camp when they take on unpredictable Bulawayo side Chicken Inn in a league match on Sunday.
The GameCocks, under former Warriors and Motor Action coach Joe Antipas have been blowing hot and cold, in the process posting some unexpected results especially on the road. The team with a bit of consistency at Luveve Stadium, could be one of the pacesetters.
They are however not far from the leading pack as they are on seventh position with 16 points, just six behind their opponents on Sunday.

Worries among the Hwange faithful are that the coal boys might be complacent when they play against Chicken Inn following their good performance when they edged champions, Dynamos 1-0 at the Colliery Stadium last Sunday.

However, Hwange coach Nation Dube who still says they are not eyeing the championship but want to end the season in a respectable position, says complacency is out and if they are to drop points, it will purely be a football result and bad day in office.

“We would not want to talk about losing of course but in the event that we do, it should not be blamed on complacency,” said Dube.
He said they were preparing for Chicken Inn just like any other game and were not putting much emphasis on who there are or where they are coming from.

“We respect all our opponents in the league and that includes Chicken Inn. I always tell the boys that no team is small as long as we are in the same league,” said Dube who reported a clean bill of health in his camp.

He will rely once again on his tried and trusted troops of defence generals David Boriwondo, skipper Gerald Ndlovu and national team defender Eric Chipeta to shut out the visitors’ strikeforce of Tendai Mukambi, Thomas Chimenya and veteran forward Mkhokheli Dube, nicknamed Msholozi.

Hwange who arguably have one of the best midfield in the country will deploy the no nonsense holding midfielder Andrew Chuma to provide the first level of defence while also making sure his strikers Evans Rusike and Aleck Marime get clean balls. Silent assassin Rodwell Chinyengetere  is another player that Antipas’ players should be wary of.

While Chicken Inn will be battling 335km away from Bulawayo, Bantu Rovers and How Mine will be engaged in home battles beginning tomorrow afternoon when Tshintsha Guluva take to the Luveve turf against Buffaloes. Bantu Rovers have already made known their intentions of collecting maximum points.

Team of the moment, How Mine are up against probably their biggest test so far, FC Platinum, 24 hours after the Bantu Rovers match and had it not been for the mother of all battles in the capital, the match would have clearly been the big one for the weekend.

Kuda Musharu who has not scored in the last couple of matches ever since media reports linked him to Dynamos, should be able to find his missing boots and extend his eight goal margin.
