THE record of the liberation of this country is the lens through which the coming generation will connect with the country’s history. It is because of this that its preservation should be prioritised.

The country would not have attained independence had it not been for the sacrifice of its sons and daughters who took up arms to fight the settler regime.

In celebrating the country’s heroes and heroines, musician Ransom Madzamba has released a single titled Tochema Magamba.

Popularly known as Mazarura, the musician said Tochema Magamba is a follow up to the single Africa which he released on Africa Day as a way of celebrating the freedom Africa is enjoying.

“Tochema Magamba is a dedication to the country’s fallen heroes and heroines. In the song, I emphasise the need for us as Zimbabweans to take heed of all the teachings we got from our heroes and heroines,” he said.

Mazarura said that his love for the country is what inspired the latest offering.

“I’m just a patriotic individual who’s inspired by the history of my country. This is not my first time to work on such a project as I did the song Africa for Africa Day,” said Mazarura. — @mthabisi_mthire
