ISSA Sadiki is the younger brother of Warriors midfielder Ali Sadiki but the youngster believes he has a bigger football dream. Ali emerged as one of the finest players who were moulded at the now defunct Agatha Sheneti Football Academy and later turned out for Harare United and Gunners.

His cultured left foot aided Gunners to the league championship in 2009 and now Ali is playing for African giants TP Mazembe in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

However, Issa has a bigger dream in football and hopes one day to make the Real Madrid team.

The 16-year-old Issa was one of the players who were presented with new equipment from Adidas local agent E-Sport yesterday.

Sadiki, who is a student at Prince Edward, is the only unheralded player who has been appointed Adidas brand ambassador, through E-Sport.

“I play for FC Harare and it’s a lower league side helped by Edzayi Kasinauyo,” said Ali.

“My position is attacking midfielder and I enjoy playing behind the strikers a lot.”

Issa is also a member of the Young Warriors and hopes to break into the senior team one day but his dream is to play for Real Madrid.

“Very soon, I will be going into camp for the Region Five Games where I have been selected into the team to play in Bulawayo,” said Issa.

“Locally, I support Dynamos but my dream is to end up at Real Madrid.”

Issa has played at the Santiago Bernabeu after he went to Spain three years ago as part of Peter Ndlovu’s Under-13 team that took part in the VW tournament.

“I have played at Real Madrid before when we went as an Under-13 team and now I hope to work hard and play there again,” he said.

Issa yesterday received the latest pair of Nitro-charge 1.0 football boots, a pair of Predator boots, sneakers, tracksuits and T-shirt from Adidas through E-Sport.

The Dynamos duo of midfielder Ronald Chitiyo and Masimba Mambare also received the same equipment alongside ZPC Kariba’s Dennis Dauda.

E-Sport managing director Edzayi Kasinauyo said the sports equipment were part of the latest products to be imported into Zimbabwe.

“Whenever, Adidas produces new equipment, they want to give to the brand ambassadors,” said Kasinauyo.

“These players have to be disciplined and talented. They have to be role models and should also make the brand as their preferred sportswear.

“I have seen players in Europe being branded and we can also do the same here at home.”

Adidas also provide kit to Rahman Kutsanzira, Warriors skipper Patson Jaure and Zimbabwe international midfielder Kuda Mahachi, through the local distributors. – Sportszone
