JUST IN: Zim reports Zero Covid-19 deaths

THE country did not record any Covid-19 related deaths in the last 48 hours with 31 new cases recorded in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Child Care 3 138 front line workers were vaccinated yesterday, bringing the cumulative number to 18 843 countrywide.

The seven-day rolling average for new cases rises to 42 from 41on Saturday.

The Ministry said all the 31 new cases are local transmissions.

“All 31 new cases are local transmissions. There are 135 hospitalised cases, 70 asymptomatic, 52 mild to moderate, four severe cases and nine intensive care unit,” said the ministry.

So far, 76 new recoveries were reported while the national recovery rate stands at 90,5 percent and active cases went down to 1 960 on Sunday.

A total of 914 tests were conducted on Sunday and positivity was 3,4 percent.

According to the Ministry, 15 cases were reported in Manicaland province followed by Bulawayo and Harare with six cases each while Masvingo recorded  four cases.

“As of February, 28 2021, Zimbabwe, has now recorded 36 089 confirmed cases, 32 666 recoveries and 1 463 deaths,” said the Ministry.
