THE Civil Court has ordered a Bulawayo couple to go for counselling before it delivers judgment in a matter in which a man claims he lost his mind after being slapped with sex sanctions for five years.
Roberto Moyo approached the court yesterday seeking a protection order against his wife Leandy Moyo, who conceded that she denied the man his conjugal rights claiming he was cheating on her.

“This woman is denying me my conjugal rights and refused to have sex with me several times. She says she is fixing me because I used to come home late. She is emotionally and psychologically abusing me,” said Moyo.

“I’m always stressed and under medication. I was taken to hospital as a mentally disturbed patient and my doctor said I must do away with her.”

Leandy told magistrate Marylene Mutshina that her husband cheated on her and sometimes goes for a week without sleeping at home claiming that he would be at work.

She said Moyo once embarrassed her in front of her father after he told him that she was denying him his conjugal rights.
“After he started coming home late, he could barely look at me or touch me. I tried to reason with him telling him to stop his behaviour as he was going to bring diseases and die leaving his children fatherless but he never listened to me,” she said.

“He also stopped giving me money and paying fees for his children. When our children asked him for money he would shout at them as if he wasn’t their father. I started doing a man’s role, doing piece jobs to raise money for my children’s school fees.”
