MIGHTY Warriors’ coach Shadreck Mlauzi said they will get down to serious business from this morning.

The girls finally went into camp at a Bulawayo hotel yesterday after previous multiple cancellations.

Zifa spokesman Xolisani Gwesela said the girls could now start their training.

“They’ll go into camp today until they leave for Tanzania. They’ll use the various grounds in Bulawayo for their training purposes and further information will be availed as time goes on,” said Gwesela.

The Mighty Warriors face Tanzania in an African Women Cup of Nations’ qualifier on the weekend of March 4-6, but the bigger assignment is the Olympic Games in August, which they qualified for.

A friendly match has been lined-up for the girls against Botswana to prepare for the African Women Cup of Nations qualifier.

“We haven’t set a date yet for the friendly, but we’ll announce it soon.

“We had hoped for more friendly matches for them to get adequate preparation in the short space of time they have left,” said Gwesela.

The Mighty Warriors made history by becoming the first local football side to qualify for the Olympic Games and will head to the global sporting showcase in the huge Brazilian seaside city of Rio de Janeiro.

Depending on the outcome of their qualifiers, they may head to Cameroon for the African Women Cup of Nations to held in December.
