ACTION continues in the Zimbabwe Women’s Football Super League this weekend with Flame Lily clashing with Mufakose in an early encounter at Mufakose Stadium tomorrow.Table toppers Flame Lily are basking in glory after a series of victories. They have only lost once in eight matches they have played so far while fifth placed Mufakose will be no pushovers as they seek to redeem lost pride. They were walked over in their last encounter against Aces Academy.

Zimbabwe Women’s Football fixtures secretary Theresa Maguraushe said that they were facing challenges with some teams failing to travel for matches.

“The fixtures for this weekend are few because teams are facing serious financial challenges and cannot travel to some venues to play,” said Maguraushe.

She appealed to well wishers in the corporate world to sponsor women’s football.

“We’re appealing to the corporate world to support us by partnering with the league at least so that the women in Zimbabwe also enjoy football,” she said.

The league has been running without a sponsor ever since it commenced in July and many teams have been postponing their matches or being walked over.

Bulawayo’s Inline Academy will play host to Black Rhinos Queens at Sikhulile High School with Tenax Queens facing second placed Auckland Queens in Mutare while Chipembere Queens battle it out with Hwange Ladies at Mkoba Stadium.

Fixtures

Chipembere v Hwange Ladies     (Mkoba Stadium ),  Aces Academy v ZRP Harare Province (Callies Sports Club), Mufakose v Flame Lily Queens (Mufakose Stadium), Tenax v Auckland Queens (Sakubva Stadium).
