Nguluvhe urges  support for  community projects Cde Albert Nguluvhe

BEITBRIDGE East legislator Cde Albert Nguluvhe has called on local community leaders to pool resources and assist people in their areas to venture into income generating projects at household level to address food insecurity.

He made the remarks on Saturday while addressing people in Lesanth, Ward 13, where he donated 3 000 fingerlings to villagers running a fish project in the area.

He said self-sustenance initiatives were very critical in promoting rural economic growth and community empowerment.

Cde Nguluvhe said he was engaging a number of partners to support communities in his constituency depending on their needs.

“Community development, especially in rural areas is achievable if we work together and support each other as a people,” he said.

“Since coming into office as a Member of Parliament, I have been going around engaging the people in my constituency to understand their dreams and aspirations on socio-economic development issues.

“What is clear is that development initiatives differ from area to area and hence I am calling on all community leaders and the Government to pool resources and assist our people realise their economic development potential.

“This should start from household up to national level. Today we are delivering 3 000 fingerlings to the Lesanth Community which besides using their local dam to irrigate small plots is engaged in fish farming”.

“The fish that I am presenting here was sourced through local businessman Mr Charles Terry Mulowa and it is important that we keep working together with like minds to empower communities”.

The legislator said he had also donated 10 bulls to be shared by small scale livestock farmers under Beitbridge East.

He said animal husbandry was common in the area and hence the need to assist people to produce cattle breeds which compete effectively on local and national markets.
