No awards for Zimbabwe at Afrima

ON Sunday, the All Africa Music Awards (Afrima) took place in Nigeria and six Zimbabwean artistes were nominated but none of them won.

Nutty O, Jah Prayzah, ExQ, Tammy Moyo, ShaSha and Tocky Vibes carried the nation’s hopes on their shoulders but it was not to be.

Mali hip-hop artiste Iba One stole the show with five awards for African Male Artiste in Inspirational Music, Artiste, Duo, or Group in African Pop; Best Male Artiste Western Africa; Album of the Year and Songwriter of the Year.

Nigerian wonder kid, Wizkid won three gongs, Artist of the year; Song of the year and Collaboration of the year making him the most decorated Afro-beat artist of all time.

South Africa’s Blaq Diamond scooped the Best Male Southern Africa award beating Jah Prayzah in the process.
