ZIMBABWE Football Association (Zifa) Southern Region Division One team Plumtree Chiefs are looking for a coach to replace coach Thulani “Thuts” Sibanda who joined Black Mambas three weeks ago.Plumtree Chiefs are now seven points behind pacesetters Ntabazinduna who have proved hard to beat with 11 wins.

Chiefs spokesperson,Dumisani Mantula confirmed that the club was looking for a new coach.

“We have a number of experienced coaches lined up that we think can take over from Sibanda,” said Mantula

The Plumtree side has been in trouble of late under the leadership of Nkosiyazi Ncube, who was assistant coach to strategist Sibanda. He was given the reigns and chance to prove himself when his former boss moved to Harare but results have not been that positive.

Mantula said that the club was eyeing an experienced coach who could steer the team to the Premiership at the end of the season.

“The club is eager to approach coaches like Peter Munoti who have experience and can motivate players to work hard,” he said.

Several names are said to have been thrown at the club and these include Solomon Kaseke, Amin Soma Phiri and Tobias Mudyambanje.

The league is approaching its half way mark and Plumtree Chiefs with two games in hand, have played 11 with five wins, three draws and three losses and are seven points behind Ntabazinduna.

Mantula said that the issue at the club was on the players who were demotivated by the sudden move to Harare by their coach.

“The club is working very hard to lift the boys’ spirits so that they can improve their performance,” said Mantula. Ncube and Anzilom Ndlovu are likely to remain assistants.

Mantula said: “The team has invested a lot in Ncube and he learnt a lot from Thulani.”
