Poem inspires Amakhekhekhe remix Tallis

WHEN Victoria Falls singing twins, Top Kings (Nkosilathi and Nkosenhle Ncube) released Amakhekhekhe in 2019, the song’s influence even reached Silobela.

The song is about rebuking infidelity when it comes to relationships and this inspired Kwekwe-based yet Silobela-born poet Tallis (real name Thulani Khabo) to pen a poet directed at one of the twins, Mr. Culture who was supposedly an infidel in the song.

The poem has inspired Top Kings to work on a remix of the song Amakhekhekhe and all the lyrics would be written by Tallis.

Tallis, a staunch fan of the duo told Chronicle Showbiz that his poem titled “Ufun’ikatsi katsi Culture!” was meant to chasten all the “Mr. Cultures” of the ill-effects of reckless behavior.

“What inspired the poem were the wise words that Mr Afrika was offering to his brother who had spiraled out of control. The catalyst of the poem as well was Top Kings’ other song, Mbambeni. The poem encourages people to listen to sound advice,” articulated Tallis.

On the Amakhekhekhe remix, the Top Kings promised fireworks.

“December is around the corner and it’s a perfect time to drop something educational but groovy as well. We will record, mix and master the remix on our own,” said the Top Kings. – @eMKlass_49.
