Presidential star rally in Bulilima, Matabeleland South President Mnangagwa

PRESIDENT Mnangagwa is set to address a Zanu PF Presidential Star Rally for Matabeleland South at Nyele Primary School grounds in Bulilima District on Saturday.

Yesterday, senior Zanu PF officials from Matabeleland South province who included the party’s provincial chairman Cde Nqobizitha Ndlovu, Matabeleland South Provincial Affairs and Devolution Minister Abednico Ncube, Central Committee member Cde Dingumuzi Phuti held preparatory meetings ahead of the event, which is expected to be attended by thousands of party supporters.

Others who were present included Zanu PF Central Committee members Cdes Mkhuleko Nleya, Ntombiyakhe Ndlovu, Matabeleland South provincial commissar Cde Washington Nkomo, Matabeleland South youth provincial chairman Cde Moses Langa, Young Women for ED national coordinator Cde Sithabile Gandi-Ndlovu, Bulilima DCC members among other party officials.

In an interview on the sidelines of the tour of the venue yesterday, Cde Nqobizitha Ndlovu said all is set for the star rally.

“We are very grateful and excited that the Head of State, and First Secretary of Zanu PF, President Mnangagwa is visiting Matabeleland South province. Today (yesterday), we had a series of meetings to prepare for this big day on Saturday,” he said.

 “We have agreed that Nyele which is in Ward 4 under Bulilima district will host this big event. It’s a convenient ward because it is very central in the district, and we want everyone to have an opportunity to come and meet the President.”

Cde Ndlovu said the event will also be an opportunity for the locals to pay gratitude to the President for his commitment towards spearheading development that leaves noone and no place behind.

“We want to take the opportunity to thank our President for a lot of things he has done throughout the country. We have seen how the President and the First Lady have taken keen interest in the San community in Makhulela Ward, Bulilima Constituency,” he said.

“They even adopted the community and the President is supporting a lot of community run projects in the district. More importantly, we want to thank him for the good work he is doing in the whole country.”

Cde Ndlovu paid tribute to President Mnangagwa for spearheading development in Matabeleland South province.

“We are grateful that he is spearheading nutrition gardens at community level and we saw him launch the first ever such garden in Makorokoro village in Mangwe district. We have seen what he has done in Beitbridge, and in Gwanda where the construction of Tuli Manyange Dam is underway,” he said.

Cde Ndlovu said as Bulilima Constituency they assure the President of a resounding victory.

“We also want to send a clear message to everyone, especially to him as our Head of State that Bulilima is a Zanu PF district, Zanu PF constituency, and we want to promise him a resounding victory on 23 August when the country goes to the polls,” he said.

Cde Phuti said Bulilima will never be the same again after the President’s visit.
