is in its second year running, will see beauty queens from all the countries tertiary institutions competing for the coveted crown.
The show, which runs under the theme “Beauty and Brains”, seeks to give a platform to academics to prove that they can do more than just reading.

In an interview, popular television and radio presenter Prominence Makaza, who is working under Ochi City, said the pageant has been a success judging by the way the reigning top three have gone on to be winners in other pageants.

“All our winners last year were in the top five of the Miss Zimbabwe pageant and to put the icing on the cake Rumbidzai Mudzengerere and Lisa Morgan were crowned Miss Tourism and Miss Universe respectively,” said Makaza.

He also added that the winners of the pageant will get scholarships and prize money but all the participants will walk away with something courtesy of the sponsors.
In addition to the prizes that will be won, the top two will automatically get a ticket to represent Zimbabwe in the Miss University Africa pageant.
Participants in the pageant will be selected through interviews that will be held in the different universities in Zimbabwe.

Makaza also took time to thank the corporate world for their support, which has seen the pageant being a success.
“I want to thank the corporate world for their support in making this pageant a success especially Commissioner Oliver Chibage of Ochi City who is now a part of the pageant,” he said.

As a sign of social responsibility, the winners of the pageant will donate money and goodies to various orphanages dotted around the country and they will also market the country through various projects that will be done in conjunction with the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority.

This year’s show is expected to be bigger and better and artistes billed to perform at the show include Alick Macheso, Winky D, King Shaddy and South African artist, Professor of the hit song, “Jezebel” among others.

Makaza promised fans a show that they will live to cherish for many days to come.
“I promise fans a night full of entertainment that they will enjoy,” Makaza said.
