BULAWAYO-born striker, Tino Masara has been making waves in the South African fourth-tier football league where he has been finding the back of the net for fun, proving to be lethal in front of goal.

Plying his trade at All Stars FC in South Africa’s SAB League, which is the fourth tier of domestic football in the neighboring country, the former Entumbane High School pupil has been enjoying life, leading the goal-scoring charts.

Masara, whose football journey began at just the age of 10 years old at Ntabeni Primary School in Entumbane has so far found the back of the net 14 times in 21 outings and is the leading goal scorer.

His goal-poaching skills have helped All-Stars in their campaign as they are sitting in third place in the 18-team standings.

With his football journey dating back to primary school, the 21-year-old Masara played for various teams in Bulawayo and is hoping to take his career a step further and play in some of the best leagues in the world.

He said that given the quality in South Africa, he has become a better player and still dreams big. One of his biggest dreams is to don the national colours for the Warriors.

“I have been around playing for teams in Bulawayo, just to name a few, I played for Eleven Stars and Entumbane Stars. I am now based in South Africa pursuing my career and learning more to enhance my skills. My biggest dream is to represent my country and play in Spain for one of the best teams in the world.

“South African football is very competitive and there are a lot of quality players here so I have been learning and also as a good player myself, managed to adjust and gel in with the other guys,” said Masara.

He also played in developmental tournaments such as the Dumisani Ndlovu Foundation annual foundation games where he was once the top goal scorer.
