VETERAN coach Cosmas “Tsano” Zulu who was appointed Bosso technical advisor on Tuesday, started his official duties yesterday.
On Wednesday, Zulu, a former club player, assistant coach and technical manager, sat on the terraces as the boys went through their paces at Unit Fairbridge.
“I’m on the terraces waiting for the chief (Gumede) to make formal introductions to the boys and explain my role to the technical team,” said Zulu on Wednesday.

Highlanders’ chief executive officer Ndumiso Gumede said all was now in place.
“I’ve since done the necessary introductions both to the players and the technical team. It’s only that I had some other pressing issues yesterday (Wednesday). We’ve also given him his letter of engagement,” said Gumede.

Zulu, whose marriage with Bosso dates back to 1981 right up to the mid 1990s when he left as technical manager, was roped in to assist the Mark Mathe-led technical bench which was badly exposed by Caps United on Sunday, handing them a 4-0 drubbing.

Mathe had been with the team for two weeks since the departure of Zambian Kelvin Kaindu following a 1-3 loss to ZPC Kariba at Hartsfield Grounds last month.

Hopes were high among the Bosso faithfuls that Mathe would complete a double over Caps United, a team he beat by the same scoreline in the reverse fixture.

Many are still trying to find answers to Mathe’s wisdom or lack of it, to play Innocent Mapuranga as a holding midfielder with the man who has been driving Bosso in that department Felix “SaNicky” Chindungwe being pushed back to partner Erick Mudzingwa in central defence, playing troubled Mthulisi Maphosa and moving Dumisani Ndlovu to right back position.

Another moment of madness was when a decision was made to relegate the team’s captain Ariel Sibanda to the bench in favour of Njabulo ‘Popo’ Nyoni.
